Celebrating our first night aboard

The wait was over: it was move-in time!

The clock was ticking on our 90-day visas, so we moved aboard Catalyst while a slew of workers were still completing final punch list tasks. Certainly not the ideal scenario, but necessary to stay on track for next week’s departure. Schlepping, unpacking, and stowing all the items we’d brought on our flight over, all the supplies we’d purchased in South Africa, and all that we’d shipped from the States in March was no easy task, but we managed to do so over several days without injuring ourselves or each other. 😉

We keep wandering around Catalyst pinching ourselves that she is ours. The beds are comfy, the workmanship throughout the boat is outstanding, and the storage capacity is divine. Her indoor and outdoor gathering space has been perfect for celebrations with fellow catamaran owners coming to check her out and share our joy. We’ll post a walk-through video soon!

Next step is taking Catalyst out for some more sea trials and learning all her systems – AND stocking up on 50 days of provisions (the topic of another blog!) prior to our departure.
