First crossing

We’ll miss you, South Africa!

Our boat is packed, we’re ready to go!

Today we embark on our first crossing. Our plan is to stop at the islands of St. Helena and Fernando de Noronha prior to our arrival in Grenada. Each leg will take about 10-14 days of blue water sailing. I’m curious to experience what it’s like being on a boat with no land in sight – guess the silver lining of being so busy preparing for our departure is that I haven’t had time to fret about it!

I’ll do some blogging catch-up while we’re underway, although I won’t be posting again until we have WiFi (hopefully at St. Helena). In the meantime, you can track our progress at: https://forecast.predictwind.com/tracking/display/SV_Catalyst/.

(We’ve added “Track us” to the main navigation for ease of reference.) In addition to showing our current location, the site will also feature Pete’s color commentary on our voyage.

Many thanks for all your well wishes as we embark on our maiden journey. Ciao!
