So long, farewell
The month of May passed in a blur
Corey was finished with her job, but now the real work of transforming our lives began. What to pack for the journey? (We’d already shipped a crateful of tools, appliances, and water toys to Cape Town in March.) What to sell? (Facebook Marketplace and Offer Up tied as the most effective platform.) What to squeeze into a 16’ storage container until our return in 3-5 years? (A painful, yet effective way to free one’s life from clutter!) Throughout the moving process, Pete’s months of logistics planning shined.
In the midst of our relocation scramble, we squeezed in a trip to Utah to celebrate Ian’s graduation (joined by Katia as well) and shared great times with family and friends in both LA and Seattle.
May was a rendition of Goodnight Moon on steroids: “Goodbye cars, goodbye furniture, goodbye kitchen appliances, cookbooks, most of our clothing, and everything else accumulated over the years. Goodbye friends and family everywhere…at least until you come visit us!
